Roller-Shutter Doors at Pathfield Business Park
Pathfields Business Park is situated just off the North Devon Link Road near South Molton, and is the home to many business workspaces. Here we installed 10 roller shutter doors and 20 personnel doors on two separate steel-frame buildings constructed by Hotworks Engineering.
These roller shutter doors are operated by 3-phase NBG chain-drive fire motors from Link Controls, which are programmed to open the door fully with the single press of a button. This motor comes complete with a hand-chain manual override facility.
As for the curtains on these doors, our client decided on the insulated option which includes twin-skin 95mm foam filled laths. The bottom lath also includes a rubber weather seal. These are covered in a hard-wearing plastisol coating and coloured in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) to match the cladding. The curtains close snugly into 90mm brush-edged guides for minimal rattling and optimal draught exclusion.
The personnel doors installed to the front of these buildings are inward opening and have standard latches and lock using the keys provided, whereas the doors to the rear of the building are used for fire exits, therefore open using a internal push-bar. These are self locking and can only be opened from the inside.
All the personnel doors feature a 45mm leaf, each fixed to the doorframe with 3 ball-bearing dog bolt butt hinges, along with low profile, weather-resistant aluminum thresholds sitting at the bottom of the doors. The doorframes also include expanding side panels to ensure a tight fit into the opening.
